The Nokia Lumia 900 debuted 11 days ago and was met with solid sales, but didn’t capture the mindshare it needed to. While many say the 900 is a perfectly fine Windows Phone, that’s indeed the problem. It’s just “fine.” Nokia is Microsoft’s chosen hardware partner for Windows Phone and has the luxury of customizing the OS to create a unique experience. However, Nokia did not do anything different with the OS make the product far from compelling. Windows Phone can run on low powered devices and that’s great, but the 900 doesn’t offer anything unique other than its color choice. The latest rumor is that Windows Phone 8 will allow for customization. That could be a great thing. You can
