This is an oddball. Nokia is on Apple’s side against Samsung. Apple tried to get a permanent injunction against Samsung, but that was denied. Nokia has filed a brief supporting Apple’s position in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington. The full brief is sealed, but the gist of the brief is that the trial judge erred by ruling Apple must establish a “causal nexus” between its patented feature and the demand for its phones to get that permanent injunction.
